Letters From Home: Envelope-sized, First Edition
From the Bible we believe certain things about God, the world, man, sin, salvation, the church and the future. However, the unique nature by which the Bible was written means that these essential themes of Christianity do not flow sequentially but, as the early church theologian Origen once said,
‘God gives us truth in single threads, which we must weave into a finished texture.’
By doing so, complete teachings on each of these areas of faith emerge and, as the Bible is the Word of God and inspired by Him, these Letters are our Father’s personal message to us, His beloved children.
Each chapter, or Letter, in this Christian book focuses on a traditional division of systematic theology, gathering together the Scriptural verses that concern the topic. The central message of the Bible is of God’s love to His people, and the theme running through each book of both the Old and New Testament is the plan of salvation, the way we can enter into a living relationship with God. This is why the gospel message is woven into each of the Letters; in every area of theology you can’t help but to return to this same theme; it is of central importance and everything else is secondary.
Our Father has revealed His most earnest desire: for us to know Him and to enter His family.

All these Letters point to Christ as the only Way, Truth and Life and highlight the most important verses in the Bible concerning salvation and useful in evangelism.
The second half of the book is written in a way that assumes the reader has accepted Christ into their life as the only remedy for their separation from God and has become His true child. In this way, both the entreaties to be reconciled to Him and the intimate instructions to His children, such as the call to do His work, the gifts He gives and the precious promises of a glorious future are expressed with a gentle, personal and simple clarity.

“I cannot praise this book enough. Someone sent me this book through the post and I started reading it as soon as I received it and didn’t stop until I finished it! It is a short book but so incredibly detailed!!
