Can Jesus help me? Bible Verses

Jesus help me

Not only does God know exactly what you are thinking and experiencing, He has directly experienced the same when He came to earth and was born a human.

No matter what troubles you, know that God understands what you are going through and come to Him – be real and tell Him everything. God wants to – and will – help you.

What was Jesus’ life like? Bible Verses

Life of Christ

Jesus lived a life no different from any other. He was born, grew through childhood, played, studied and worked with His hands. He also felt hunger, thirst, anger, frustration, sadness, love and was tempted in every way imaginable.
Yet, through all this, He managed to never sin, not even once – the tremendous wisdom, self-discipline, strength, power and comfort He took from His Father through His prayer life sustained Him throughout His life.
The way Jesus lived His life holds the key to how we can have a fulfilling and powerful life today.
As you read this short excerpt from Letters from Home, see the similarities with your own life and, if something is missing, pray for help to emulate our God-given Role Model here, right now, today, just where you are.

Father God, how can I be with You? Bible Verses

How to be close to God

The philosopher Pascal once wrote that there is a God-shaped hole in each of our hearts and, until this is filled, we will always feel empty and as if something is missing from our lives.
How can we fill this hole in our heart and feel whole in ourselves?
In this excerpt from Letters from Home, our Father tells us the only way to God, the only way we can come and be with Him.

How should I live my life? Bible Verses

How should I live my life?

To live life as true Christians, truly Christ-like, is to live in a way that fully conforms to the life of Jesus.
When we believe and accept God’s plan for our salvation and fully trust in the sacrifice of God’s Son, our Father began to think of us in the same sense as Jesus Himself – that is, our Father forgives all our sins and so we became sinless in His sight. We have been given the wisdom, holiness and righteousness of Christ.
As this is the case, we should do our very best to live as if Christ lives in us and through us, loving everyone and being at peace both with ourselves and with others. This is the key to a fulfilling, rewarding and peace-filled life. It is not a life of following rules, of “do’s” and “don’ts”, but a free and fulfilling life, devoid of conflict and inner stress.

Who Jesus is: 8 Bible questions answered

Who Jesus is

There are a great many different names of God in the Bible. Each name reveals a different facet of God’s character and a little more about who Jesus is and none are fully exhaustive. We can never fully understand the fullness and greatness of God, but concepts such as the Messiah and Christ (meaning God’s Anointed One), the Word, Jesus (God saves), Redeemer (He who redeems or pays off the debt owed in order to make free), King of Kings and Lord of Lords, have been given to us to reveal a little more and help us understand just who Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour really is.
Here we review the questions we have answered about who Jesus is in the sixth chapter of Letters from Home.

Why did God send His Son? Bible verses

Why did God send His Son?

God the Father sent Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, to earth and empowered Him with the Holy Spirit. His mission was to reconcile the world with their Creator–but why?

How did Jesus explain His mission? Bible verses

How did Jesus explain

Throughout the ministry of Jesus Christ, He explained to His disciples, and to all who would listen, why the Son of God became man and the reason God the Father sent His Son to die for us as a sacrifice for our sins. In this excerpt of Letters from Home, read how our Father describes His Son’s own explanation of what He was doing on earth.

How did people respond to the message Jesus told? Bible verses

How people respond to Jesus

Jesus met with resistance and unbelief wherever He gave the message of love His Father gave Him to preach. Even on the cross, when the Messiah was dying the slow, painful and humiliating death of crucifixion, He was not free from being insulted.

If even the Son of God was not well-received when He spoke the good news of the Kingdom, we should not be surprised if we too encounter resistance when discussing the gospel.

Did Jesus really die? Bible verses

Did Jesus really die?

From the earliest of times, people have said that Jesus Christ did not die on the cross. The truth is that Jesus did die – He died for you and He was raised to life again.
The Bible stresses that this is the most important thing to understand. It was not the case that the Son of God did not have the power to save Himself from dying such a painful death, but that He had the powerful inner strength to entrust Himself to God, to face the most difficult trial of His life and trust that His Father would bring Him back to life again.
Jesus Christ believed that He needed to die on the cross, taking all of our sin upon Himself, and that God would raise Him back to life after three days. This is what God told Him, this is what was prophesised throughout the Old Testament and this is what happened. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross, He put His full trust and faith in His Father and He was not disappointed.

What happened on the first Easter Sunday? Bible verses

The First Easter

Yes, Jesus died on the cross, but the story does not end there. Jesus Christ died and was buried in the tomb, but Father God raised His Son from the dead. Victorious over death and sin, Jesus Christ died and rose again. On the third day after his crucifixion, the day we now celebrate as Easter Sunday, people went to His tomb and found it empty, but Jesus later showed Himself to His inner circle of friends and disciples, before being seen by more than 500 people.
His resurrection from the dead was the final proof they needed, after which nothing was considered more important than living for God and telling everyone the good news about Jesus.

Jesus came back to life – why is this significant? Bible verses

Jesus came back to life

Jesus both died on the cross, taking upon Himself all our sins, and was raised alive from the pit of death. These acts of God were great victories – victories over sin and death. Death held no power over Him, and now neither sin nor death holds us captive.
In our believing on Jesus, we die to sin and are raised to life in Him. In actual fact it is no longer we who live, but Christ in us – this is an empowering thought and one which we should make every effort to understand, and live, on a daily basis.

Will Christ ever return? Bible verses

Return of Christ

Jesus Christ came to earth around 2000 years ago. He died for our sins and was raised to life again – victorious over death. His disciples saw the Ascension, Jesus ascending into heaven, and He is there now interceding with our Father on the behalf of all who come to Him in prayer.
This brief period of about 33 years is not the last time Jesus will be on earth. He is present with God’s children at this very moment through the Holy Spirit, but Jesus will also return to earth in all His glory in the future. We should therefore live our lives in a way that we are ready, behaving in a way that we will not be ashamed, for we do not know when the Second Coming of Christ will be.

Is Jesus Christ really the Lord of all creation? Bible verses

Jesus Christ is Lord of all creation

Jesus Christ is indeed the Lord of all creation. God the Father and the Holy Spirit both declare that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God and everyone and everything has been put under His rule.
We can therefore trust what Jesus has said and entrust our eternal well-being into His care.
Jesus Christ is the Lord of all. Turn to God and enter His family through the only Way possible.

What is the way to salvation? Bible verses

Plan of salvation

The way to salvation and Good News of the Bible can be obscured and made overly complicated. But, if we cut through the layers of interpretation, traditions and other man-made rules, the way to salvation can be seen for what it truly is – simple enough for everyone to understand. So simple in fact that it has been ridiculed by the world ever since it was first spoken.
In this excerpt from Letters from Home, read how our Father explains the entirety of the gospel message – the way to salvation – in His own words.

The Work of Christ: Bible Questions answered about what Jesus has done for us

Work of Christ

Jesus Christ is no ordinary man. He has the extraordinary power of changing our lives for the better and improving our quality of life immeasurably. Jesus did not achieve this through His life, but through His death.
The reason God came to earth was to die for sinners. The death of Christ enabled us to be forgiven for our sins and the complete work of Christ, including His resurrection, ascension and exaltation, makes our redemption perfect.
Here we review the questions we have answered so far about the Work of Christ in our journey through Letters from Home.
