The Greatest Gift of God
In the previous excerpt from the Christian book Letters from Home we saw the many gifts the Holy Spirit gives us. Of all the gifts that God lavishes on us, the Gift of Himself is the greatest Gift of all.
Through our belief in the sacrifice of God’s only Son, the Father gives us His Holy Spirit to live with us, to teach, guide and empower us. This blessing of the Holy Trinity, God’s Gift to us, transforms our life, but there are many people who do not care about God and will not accept His Gift. Why is this?

| Do not be concerned that the rest of the world do not welcome My Gift. They do not accept Him, because they cannot see or know Him; But you know Him, My child, For He lives in you and is with you. You are not an orphan Because the Spirit of My Son, the Counsellor, is with you. (John 14:16-19) * Though your failures had separated you from Me, Through Jesus, I have forgiven you; (Acts 13:38) You could not see Me because of your sins, (Isaiah 59:2) But, My child, you were appointed for life everlasting. (Acts 13:48) * Like a sheep you were going astray, (1 Peter 2:25) But the Good Shepherd laid down His life for you, (John 10:14-15) And I brought Him back from the dead – He is the great Shepherd (Hebrews 13:20) Of Our one flock. (John 10:16) * Put your hope in the Saviour of all men, the Living God. (1 Timothy 4:10) This faith I have given you, (Romans 12:3) By this gift you are saved. (Ephesians 2:8) |
